Minutes - Information Committee

ECIA Information Committee

Committee Meeting of Mar. 20

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Acting Chair Gershon Siegel.  The only member present was Dag Ryen.  Other participants were Board Liaison Jody Price, Alternate Liaison Pam Henline, staff coordinator Courteney Handy, and guest Tom.

Director Price shared information on current Board activities.  The Board is looking at options and policies for use of social media, particularly on guidelines for how board and committee members represent themselves and/or the association on NextDoor Eldorado.  The board is finalizing guidelines for the removal of some trees that are threatening the pool foundation.  Following the withdrawal of Carpenter-Hazelwood as our collection agent, the board is considering proposals from two other legal firms for this service.  In the meantime, Carpenter-Hazelwood is continuing to pursue cases it has already received.

The committee reviewed the webmaster’s report for February.  A temporary bug in the host system prevented retrieval of complete data.  Usage and targeted pages remain fairly constant.  Jack Arnold will continue as webmaster on a limited basis until a new website is implemented.  Mock-ups for the revised website are in the works.

Dag Ryen will continue to work on revisions to the information committee charter.

Given that the April issue of Vistas will be four pages, it has been decided to send the newsletter separately from the annual report and election packet.  The printer has indicated that there will be no significant difference in cost.

Chair Siegel reported on the activities of a group working to promote additional classes, lectures and other events in the community.  Among the activities being considered is a regular orientation session for new owners and residents.  A night of poetry reading by community poets is scheduled for Apr. 20 at 7:00 pm.

The committee brainstormed content for the May issue of Vistas.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.
