My wife, Anne Salzmann, and I moved to Eldorado in 2002 after falling in love with the area on several Spring Break trips from Sedona where she grew up. We love the community, the beauty of the land, the many interesting people we’ve met here, and the wide open spaces a short drive away where our two herding dogs can run to their hearts content.

Our son, who now lives in Minneapolis has gifted us with a wonderful daughter-in-law and an 18 month old pistol of a granddaughter.

I grew up in Southern California where, after serving in the Air Force, I worked as a graphic artist and taught high school. I then moved to Northern California to take my Master’s Degree in Counseling and worked my way up through a local non-profit Human Services Agency as a Counselor and Program Director to become Assistant Director. I was elected Vice-Chair of the Sonoma County Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Commission, sat on the Board of the Center for Individualized Learning and was the School Administrator for a private, non-profit high school.

I have also worked off and on in the building trades, most recently here in Santa Fe as a home inspector, have been a professional potter, and owned a yoga studio in the Agora. But my passion is really music. I have been writing songs and playing guitar and bass for over 50 years, and after moving to Eldorado took up the African marimba. I am an avid reader, enjoying everything from a good mystery to a spiritual tome.

I look forward to meeting with many of you over the next 3 years to hear your concerns and suggestions for ways to make Eldorado an even better place to live.
