ECIA Annual Meeting

SANTA FE, April 7, 2014

The First Judicial District Court of New Mexico has ruled in favor of the ECIA in the ECIA v. Billings et.al. poultry covenant suit.  In a summary judgment submitted on Friday, April 4th, Judge Mark A. Macaron concluded, in a detailed and well-reasoned opinion, that “Chickens and roosters are not recognized household pets under the [ECIA] Covenants,” and therefore may not be kept or maintained on any lot in the Subdivision.

Meetings to support No Crude in Lamy

An Ordinance has been proposed restricting traffic weight limits on CR33 into Lamy. The weight limit is proposed for 26 tons (42,000 lbs) , which will allow for truck deliveries such as propane and construction materials. However, it will pose a difficulty for larger, heavier vehicles such as crude oil tanker trucks which weigh between 83,000-86,000 lbs fully loaded.
