Capital Improvements Priorities for Eldorado

Over the past several weeks, members of the Roads, Facilities and Grounds, and Legislative Outreach committees have worked together to consolidate lists of county capital improvements priorities for Eldorado.  At the request of Santa Fe county officials, these committees have created a unified priority list of all the roads and hike/bike trail projects that our community would like to see funded. This list has now been forwarded to the county and will be incorporated into the county's Infrastructure Capital Improvements Program, or ICIP.

During the recent legislative session, and with the support of our legislators, Senator Peter Wirth and Representative Stephen Easley, $151,000 were designated for use on these projects. However, this amount is subject to a veto by Governor Susanna Martinez, who must act on the capital improvements budget bill by April 5.

At the top of the list, but not numbered, are road projects that have already been funded -- although without parallel trails -- and will be completed over the next year or so.

You may view the list at this link: ICIP  Priority List

Trash Receptacles in Eldorado

A Note from Mark Young, Covenants Compliance Representative.

Quite frequently the staff at the ECIA has to answer calls about their neighbor’s trash receptacles that are either being left by the road, for many days at a time, or the fact that there is garbage blowing out of them and littering the area. Assuming the neighbor knows whose thrash cans they are, the Covenant Compliance Representative will work to verify the validity of the complaint and work with the owner(s) of the offending trash receptacles to prevent future trash receptacle issues.

Dog Complaints

altIf you are encountering a problem with a barking or roaming dog, at night or during weekend, please call Santa Fe Animal Control at 428-3720 to report the problem. Please follow that up with a call to the ECIA offices at 466-4248. Should you have to leave a message for Mark Young, Covenant Compliance Representative, or the ECIA staff, please be sure to leave your name and telephone number with the message. The ECIA staff frequently receives incomplete messages, left by Eldorado residents, who fail to leave their name and telephone numbers, and without this important information, it makes it very hard, if not impossible at times, to initiate covenant enforcement actions. Keep in mind that all complainant’s names are kept confidential during the covenant enforcement process.

Residents are reminded that under the  Dog Ownership Policies and Guidelines,  all residents are now required to keep their dogs on leash when in any of the Eldorado Greenbelts.

Thank you,

Mark Young
