The Eldorado Senior Center is going solar!

Claudia Borchert, Santa Fe County Sustainability Manager, gave a very informative presentation on the proposed Senior Center solar installation at the June 20th ECIA Board Meeting. She answered questions from the 25 residents who were in attendance and distributed the map below. The County has also released the following information:

“Santa Fe County will be installing solar panels at the Senior Center. The solar array will produce a large portion of the building’s electricity from renewables, save tax-payer dollars, and demonstrate our community’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.  Solar installations contribute to cleaner air, healthier residents, and less water use.  The panels will be ground-mounted and protected by a fence in the open field between the library and senior driveway/parking area and Avenida Torreon (see map).  Please feel free to reach out to Ashley Zappe at 505.992.9862 or azappe@santafecountynm.gov if you have any questions about solar at the County buildings, home solar installations, or any other solar projects in Santa Fe County.”
