Eldorado Hiking Group

The Eldorado Hikers hike every Tuesday, year-round, leaving promptly at 8:30 AM from the northeast corner of the Community Center parking lot.  We have no organizational meetings but publish to hikers by email three times a year a schedule listing planned hikes, the character of each hike (i.e. distance, time, etc.) and the name of a Contact. We require no reservations and hikes are open to all adult Eldorado and non-Eldorado residents. We expect all hikers to be adequately self-equipped and to give consideration of their personal fitness for a particular hike. Our hikes are in the areas around Santa Fe, including the local mountains, Pecos Wilderness and the Jemez mountains. All hikes are limited to less than 7 miles, elevation gain of 2000 ft. and to achieving a return time to Eldorado of midafternoon.  We do no backpacking or camping, but we do snowshoe in the winter.
